Priorities & opportunities

Karla Rose Hanson

Representing District 44 In The North Dakota House
Accessible

My goals every day are to be open-minded and accessible and to find common ground. I've built relationships with community and state leaders and other lawmakers to forge solutions on a range of issues.

Communication with constituents is very important to me. Along with my seatmates, I've held nearly 20 public forums in the district and sent out dozens of updates since being elected in November 2016.

If you want to discuss an issue, let's connect

As your representative, I am working to:

  • Fight for safe and healthy neighborhoods. This includes addressing the state’s shortage of mental health and addiction services, supporting criminal justice reforms that improve lives while saving money, and championing efforts to reduce gun violence.

  • Advocate for an economy that works for everyone. Instead of tax breaks for out-of-state oil companies, I've prioritized property tax reform for you, advocated for investments in higher education and research, and fought for a paid family leave policy.

  • Stand up for what's right by pushing for greater transparency and accountability in government.
